UPDATE: Apple did indeed release new Macbooks and MacBook Pros with a unibody aluminum fram and new NVIDIA chipsets, improving its graphics.

Two disadvantages that I found:
1) The Macbooks don’t come with any Firewire ports. I think this is a huge disadvantage to all those who do any sort of video editing as most of those users use video cameras and hard drives that utilize this data transfer technology. The Macbook Pro, however, does come with one FW800 port that is also compatible with FW400.
2) The new Macbooks and Macbook Pros do not give the options of a matte screen in place of the new glossy finish screens. This is likely going to be a huge turn-off to many graphic designers as it is very difficult to calibrate and use glossy screens for color and contrast critical tasks. Hopefully in the future, Apple will provide a matte display option, at least when creating a built to order notebook.

Good idea on the backup. I wrote that post and I had some major issues when I “upgraded,.” all fixed now and as a day to day OS, Leopard is much better than Tiger.
